Background / History

Ji Wudao emerged victorious from the Ji royal family's struggle for the throne. Three of his brothers died in that conflict, while Ji Wujiang and Ji Wuqing remained loyal to him; Ji Yuanhao survived under the late emperor's edict after pledging never to return to the capital. 201 203

On the day he ascended the throne, Ji Wudao entered Unity of Heaven and Man and rose from the early stage of the Void Shattering Realm to its perfected stage overnight. He subsequently hid the extent of his strength, allowing even Yan Ying—whom he seriously injured in an earlier battle—to believe he had seen Ji Wudao's full power. 8 169

As emperor, Ji Wudao sought to suppress the martial world, curb the Confucian School's influence, and prepare the Wu Kingdom for wars against its neighboring states. After Lin Xiao defeated him and broke into the Martial Saint Realm, Ji Wudao escaped through the golden light surrounding the imperial throne and ascended from the Wu Kingdom. 310 In the Immortal Spirit Realm, he was brought to Sun Chasing Island by the Profound Light Old Ancestor, but received little support.
