The next morning.
Warm sunlight poured down softly, brightening the room.
Tick-tock... tick-tock... click... The hands of the wall clock pointed to exactly eight.
On the small bed, Dong Xuebin's snoring abruptly stopped as he slowly woke from a deep sleep. Rubbing his eyes, he checked the clock.
