Outside the Tokyo National Museum, Dong Xuebin walked inside while slicking back the hair he had not cut for days, now considerably longer. He changed his hairstyle, shaved again before leaving the hotel, then took out a pair of wide-framed brown sunglasses he had prepared beforehand and put them on, making a simple disguise. He felt the gloves and folded cloth bag in his trouser pocket once more. Everything was ready. Without slowing down, Dong Xuebin soon reached the security checkpoint of the main building.
Two guards stood solemnly on either side.
As Dong Xuebin passed through, the alarm did not sound, and he entered without issue.
It was lunchtime, and there were not many people in the museum. There were only a few Japanese families, some staff members, and guards. The latter were changing shifts and going to eat, so there were about half as many as Dong Xuebin had seen that morning. The museum's anti-theft measures were highly secure, with cameras and alarms everywhere, so not every exhibition hall had staff stationed there to watch over it.

What made him frown, however, was that the Asian Gallery had even more visitors than the main building. Some were clearly families, there were several exchange students from the Republic, and even seven or eight Japanese university students visiting the small exhibition halls under a staff member's explanation. This situation had both advantages and disadvantages. The advantage was that Dong Xuebin could hide himself more easily; the disadvantage was that with so many people around, it would be difficult to act.
