At the office, below the Discipline Inspection Committee Building.
The weather was nice today. The sun had come out early, bringing a pleasant warmth. Winter was nearly over, and spring was not far away. Dong Xuebin was always in a good mood around this time of year. After arriving at the office and parking his car, he got out and headed into the Office Building.
"Hey, Director Dong."
"You were hospitalized yesterday?"
"Director, how are you feeling?"
"I'm fine, haha. Thanks for your concern."
Dong Xuebin exchanged greetings with several staff members, then strode upstairs and returned to his office.
A little after nine in the morning, not long after work had begun, someone from the Discipline Inspection Committee office came to notify Dong Xuebin about a meeting. This was not a Standing Committee meeting; its scope was much broader, and basically all department heads and deputy heads would be attending. It was held in the Main Conference Room on the top floor, with around twenty people present. By the time Dong Xuebin entered, many of the leaders had already arrived. Zhan Guiping looked at him sternly, reproach in his eyes.
"Director Dong, didn't I tell you to rest for a few more days?" Zhan Guiping asked with concern.
Dong Xuebin chuckled. "Secretary Zhan, you know me. I'm not someone who can sit still. There's nothing wrong with my health anymore, and I can't keep staying in the hospital. I already took a long leave not too long ago and delayed quite a bit of work. I really can't keep doing that these next few days."
"You really are something."
"Thank you for thinking of me."
"All right, sit down."
"Okay."
Dong Xuebin spotted Luo Haiting and sat beside her, smiling at her.
