The sun rose, and a few sparrows fluttered and chirped outside the window.
When Dong Xuebin woke up, Aunt Xuan was still fast asleep. Looking at Qu Yunxuan's gentle profile, he reached for his clothes, intending to take out a cigarette, but then thought of something and quickly stopped. He turned back and slipped under the covers, wrapping one arm around Aunt Xuan's neck while sliding the other beneath the blanket to rest on her soft belly. He rubbed, stroked, and smoothed it over and over with his palm, in an excellent mood. Dong Xuebin had never been especially fond of children, but for some reason, after learning he was going to be a father, he felt as though he had endless strength in every part of his body. He was so satisfied that he almost wished he could pull the little thing right out of Aunt Xuan's belly and hold it.
Stroke, stroke, stroke, stroke. Dong Xuebin hoped the baby would give him a kick.
"Mm." Qu Yunxuan turned over with her eyes closed. "Stop fooling around."
Dong Xuebin lowered his head and kissed her back. "Don't run. Let me feel my son some more."
"Let Auntie sleep a little longer." Qu Yunxuan brushed his hand from her stomach and murmured sleepily. "Stop making trouble. Be good."
Dong Xuebin ignored her and reached for her rounded belly again, taking advantage of the moment to grope her soft, pale backside a few times.
Qu Yunxuan had no answer for him. At last, she opened her eyes and glared at him. "You're going to drive me to death sooner or later. What time is it?"
"Almost eight. Don't go to work today. I'll take you two out for a walk."
