"Mahaha!"
Mahaha pushed the large bowl, clean enough that not a single drop of broth remained, toward the Boss Lady, hoping for another bowl.
"More? Haha, you're still as gluttonous as ever." The Boss Lady clearly recognized Mahaha. With a laugh, she began making its second bowl of noodles.

The vitality of a Fallen One was just that tenacious!
While the Boss Lady was making the noodles, Mahaha touched the White Whistle hanging around Riko's neck with its arm, then pointed at its little inverted-triangle front teeth.
Its meaning was obvious.

"Please, Mahaha." Riko took off the White Whistle and placed it on Mahaha's tentacles.
"Hamama!"
Mahaha gave a cheerful cry and began gnawing at the White Whistle with its inverted-triangle front teeth, slowly stripping away its outer shell.
"Boss Lady, did Mahaha always carve whistles like this?" Though she knew this was Mahaha's carving method, Riko was still worried as she watched it bite with its front teeth. She hoped the Boss Lady could tell her something about Mahaha's past.
"When she was still human? Of course she used her hands and tools."
The Boss Lady finished the second bowl of noodle soup and set it before Mahaha, but Mahaha was wholly focused on carving, as if it had not noticed the noodles in front of it at all.
"Just like always. Once she gets focused on carving, she ignores everything around her—"
