In Sea Dragon City, Ouyang Sun had no friends. The only being that could keep him company was this Beast Martial Soul, manifested separately from his body.
The Toad had not been able to speak at first, only croak. But later, Ouyang Sun realized that people spoke by using airflow to make their throats vibrate, so he often practiced with the Toad. By a strange twist of fate, he actually taught it to speak. Its voice was somewhat unpleasant, though, and its temperament was rather peculiar.
"It's fine."
Riko did not mind at all. She poked at the Toad's belly as it lay on its back on the ground, only for it to suddenly leap up and say, "Little girl, I'm already playing dead, and you still won't let me go? Looks like you've taken a liking to me. Then I'll indulge you and be your friend!"
"This toad is quite amusing."
Purple Pearl said with a chuckle.
"Don't call me a toad! Call me Star Toad!" The Toad Martial Soul turned around and pointed at the black bumps on its back with a claw, saying smugly, "Don't you think the spots on the skin behind my spine look just like the stars in the sky? Don't let yourselves be dazzled!"
Rabbit Girl smiled. "I really can't see it."
Ouyang Sun clenched his fists again, and the Toad was so frightened that it immediately narrowed its eyes and said, "Don't be so irritable, Master. Acting like this in front of girls will leave you single for the rest of your life!"
The corner of Ouyang Sun's mouth twitched. He took several deep breaths and lowered his fists.
"How interesting."
