Reader: Why are you taking time off so often? And why are the word counts getting shorter and shorter?
Donkey: Because the serialization has gone on for too long, and my mental state is becoming increasingly worrying. When I sit in front of the computer, my mind feels completely empty, as if my soul has left my body. I can't feel my own emotions, nor can I feel the characters' emotions, so it's hard to get into the right state.
Sometimes I can sit there all day and still write only a few words, yet I have to publish a chapter. In the end, I can only turn in something rushed.
Taking a day off isn't really complete rest either. I still need to build up a bit of a backlog.
I need at least one or two days' worth of chapters in reserve before I can be considered safe.
Otherwise, if I write and publish on the spot, accidents are bound to happen.
Reader: How are you planning the upcoming plot?
Donkey: I've already written about the Northern Frontier, the Central Continent, and the Southern Continent. The other places need to be covered briefly as well.
I'm still planning the chain reactions brought about by "Mythical Industrialization." I think there's quite a lot that can be written in this area.
I also need to think about how to achieve a grand unification of civilizations and how to shape a glorious Ninth Era.
Only an era stronger than those before it could possibly defeat powerful enemies. All of this needed to be reflected in the book, rather than brushed over in a single sentence.
Now that the "Future Mirror" has been successfully forged, this shouldn't count as cutting off at a cliffhanger, so I'm taking a day off. I hope all readers will understand.
