The professions under the Artifice Class, including Biochemists, had always projected an image of frailty, refinement, and vast knowledge. Yet the Infant Eater was suppressing her, a seasoned Aura Cultivator who had studied martial arts for years and implanted two Military-grade Plugins, with nothing but his physical attributes, leaving her afraid to confront him head-on.
What was more, the spreading green poisonous gas was rapidly corroding her respiratory filter canister. The Law Enforcement Division Four uniform was at least corrosion-resistant, so she did not need to worry about damage to her skin or alloy prosthetic weapons.
What would truly kill her was that Nimoting had not replaced her lungs with Reinforced Lung Lobes.
The Destruction-type had three starting professions: Martial Artists, Rangers, and Assassins. The first two could freely implant large numbers of prosthetic components. Rangers especially wished they could replace even their cells to improve their damage output.
Assassins, however, could not. To preserve their nimble movements and stealth capabilities, they could not have too many prosthetics in their bodies, lest they interfere with Aura's ability to conceal their presence.
Parts such as the lungs, heart, and spine could not be replaced lightly. Otherwise, Aura would become tainted with the scent of synthetic metal, exposing their tracks.
As a result, once she inhaled this Biochemical Poison Fog, even if it did not kill her on the spot, she would become fish on the chopping block, ready for slaughter.
