Li Mingji sat at the end of the bridge, watching the time with his watch in hand. The cigarette between his fingers had already burned down to the butt.
"Still not here?"
He frowned.
This was different from what Star Abyss had promised.
For the sake of secrecy and safety, Star Abyss had not arranged for Li Mingji to directly contact the god named Seeds. It seemed to be trying to conceal its movements from certain beings.

Being looked down on by women was one thing—Frostplate had always been like that—but losing face in front of his son was something Li Mingji truly could not bear.
"I'll wait a little longer..."
Just as he thought that, a battered pickup truck drove over from the other side of the river. It was piled high with all sorts of discarded parts. Li Mingji glanced at the license plate and recognized the vehicle. He greeted it instinctively. "Yo, working this late?"
Screech—
"Oh, Uncle Li Mingji."
The pickup slowly stopped beside him. The window rolled down, revealing an honest-looking young woman's face. She smiled and said warmly:
"I'm not working. I'm going somewhere... you could call it
