"We deeply mourn our beloved old friend, Lord Lioz, who died in his struggle against the Entropy Lord."
Mournful music slowly began to play. The cello seemed to be drawn by fate itself, tugging at everyone's heartstrings. The guests attending the funeral carried white bouquets, removed their hats, and bowed their heads in tribute.
"Beloved Lioz, you were White Candle Star's savior, a great industrialist, an admirable warrior, a fighter against social invasion, a fine leader of the nation, and a good friend to civilization. We deeply mourn you."
The weather was bleak. Dull thunder rolled beneath the lead-gray sky, accompanied by the tolling of bells.
Mirrid wore a black veil as she attended the funeral as the deceased's widow. Seated beside the coffin with a group of children, she looked remarkably calm. As a Long-lived Species, she had long expected this day to come. Yet whenever her gaze swept over the children, the incomprehension and confusion in their eyes left her feeling unsettled.
As guests entered the mourning hall, they could see the deceased's biography displayed on a nearby wall:

He had been a president, an industrialist, an adventurer, and a wielder of Aoneng, but not a qualified father. Fortunately, his partner was a Long-lived Species, so there was no need to worry about raising the children.
