"Day 366: We can't receive any signals from the Narrative Civilization here. We can't even detect dimensional fragments leaking from the Fixed Time Domain."

"That's really strange. It's already been a year, and none of us can contact anyone. Did they silently lose contact with us, or did we silently lose contact with them?"

"Give it a rest. The Source Matter readings are normal too. There isn't even a society anywhere nearby—forget societies, we haven't even seen any local natives."

Once the initial excitement faded, the lack of entertainment and the busy work quickly wore down everyone's fighting spirit. Day after day, they languished amid the negative feedback of repeated failure.

Not only had the staff at the communications center begun to slack off, but after a year, even Li Aoz had started to doubt his decision.

He had not been idle this past year either. He had secluded himself to study Aoneng, tempered his body with gravity, used decay rays released through the weak force to induce genetic mutations, and tried manually strengthening his Aoneng.

Unfortunately, he had yet to obtain the final Sequence Aura—Strength.

That Aoneng was exceptionally difficult to acquire... but once he got it, with his current accumulation, the day he changed classes into a Starcaller would be the day he Ascended to Godhood and Be Enfeoffed.

His Aoneng had not improved much, but his magic resistance had been greatly strengthened instead. His body was now immune to all magical and radiation effects at Iota-rank (9) and below.

Besides that, his HP had returned to a reassuring 800,000. It was still far below his peak, but at least it gave him some peace of mind.
