Tap, tap!
Violent soul power danced wildly like lightning serpents, grazing past both sides of Lioz's cheeks.
He lowered his head and strode forward coldly.
"At least you've got some backbone. Too bad if you've got backbone, you don't have brains."
This unusual action immediately drew the Profound Rock Lord's attention. Spiritual power condensed into tentacles and rapidly spread out, his whispers echoing through the space without cease:
"Still, I'm rather curious. Without that woman's protection, you still dare walk toward me. What exactly gave you such confidence?"
Lioz did not answer him. He simply kept walking, raising a hand to wipe the tinted glasses disguising his eyes away.
Redenia stood behind him, coldly watching as he walked farther and farther away.
Lioz, what the hell are you thinking?
Resting her chin on one hand, Redenia looked as though she were sulking, but her thoughts raced beneath the surface. Even if that guy died who knows how many thousands or hundreds of years ago, he's still a demigod. Someone bearing the title of Lord of Consecration, whose will communicates directly with the consciousness of this layer of the Star Abyss.
Is it because of that finger bone? Does it seem to have some special effect? Lioz probably obtained some ability to foresee the future from Seeds. Maybe he learned something from it.
But I can say for certain that if Lioz knew the importance of that finger bone, he should have begun searching for the Rock Ghost's whereabouts from the start, rather than acting only now—especially considering that he specifically set out while I was away from Fort Destiny, heading to the grasslands.
As she watched Lioz's back, light flickered and shifted in Redenia's eyes.
The next moment, time seemed to freeze, allowing her thoughts to continue without end.
