Over the past decade—more precisely, since the Spirit Wave Network's framework was first established at the end of '86 and small-scale experiments began around the laboratory and Shang Ding Building—that place had been the very core of Xia City's Inner World.
Ronan had of course visited the Thirteenth Floor before, but Ouyang Chen rarely extended invitations, and he had no reason to refuse.
Maintenance for the Spirit Wave Network had always been complicated and arduous. Even though much of the work had been automated, forty or fifty maintenance personnel were still permanently stationed on the Thirteenth Floor of Shang Ding Building's main building.
Under the shifting colors of the enormous real-time projection in the center of the floor, the figures seemed even more densely packed—perhaps an illusion created by the glimpses of the city displayed within it.
