Lao Yao knew all too well about this notorious giant amphibious assassin of the mountain region. His scalp practically exploded, yet Ronan, who had just turned to face him, seemed utterly unresponsive to both the warning behind him and the threat ahead.
"Mister Luo!"
Lao Yao vaguely sensed that something was wrong, but instinct moved faster than thought. He rushed forward, reaching for Ronan's shoulder.
At that moment, the Shadow Blade Water Boa was less than five meters away from Ronan. It could reach him in a single lunge!
From Lao Yao's angle, he could already see the boa's murky yellow, icy vertical pupils... Icy was merely the usual description. This Shadow Blade Water Boa was clearly agitated.
The rhythm and range of its sinuous movements were far more violent than normal. Its heavy head had risen about one and a half meters, its jaws stretched wide to expose six rows of sharp teeth still smeared with mud, as though it would pounce and kill at any moment.

Behind the youth, the Shadow Blade Water Boa remained with its jaws wide open, but it made no further move. It was frozen there as if struck by some spell. On closer inspection, its massive body, over ten meters long and as thick as a barrel, was still trembling faintly.
From its throat downward, there were obvious abnormal bulges that seemed to extend all the way along its body, propping up even the belly pressed against the muddy ground and making it look especially bloated... and pained.
"Did it gorge itself on
