Long Qi looked toward Fris. The latter's faceplate tilted in his direction as well; it was as if the two exchanged a glance.
From the accounts so far, this had been going on for at least a year or two. As for the missing person, the incident had happened three weeks ago. It did not seem like a direct consequence of some humanoid natural disaster arriving in Lake City.
Zhao Xi continued his report. Since people had gone missing and lives might be at stake, he focused on that aspect:
"The accountant most likely disappeared on this main road or somewhere nearby. There were three people traveling together, one off-road vehicle, and one Heavy Load Platform.
"They said they couldn't run empty, so they would first make a trip to the Long Tail River Supply Point to haul a load, then bring back the factory's goods along the way... In the end, before they even reached the Supply Point, the people, vehicles, and cargo all vanished.
"Since it happened in the Wilderness, requesting a scout operation is troublesome, and there is still no result. But the supplier has already blown up, shouting about taking legal action. The pressure on Spring City headquarters is considerable."
Fris asked, "Who owns the Heavy Load Platform?"
Zhao Xi gave a heh heh. "Qi Shang bought it in Lake City. Not long after that, it was added as capital under the name of the Spring City headquarters company. He said rentals were too expensive, and having an owned Heavy Load Platform would be much more convenient, though it would eat into profits in the short term. He used that excuse to shut Spring City up. Then there was asset depreciation and all that, enough to keep their mouths shut for a few more years."
