Ronan quickly realized something was wrong.
Given the degree of coordination in his Form and Spirit Framework and his control over his body, tinnitus should basically have been impossible; as for that noise, it made even less sense.
Where was the source?
Ronan swept his gaze around the temporary laboratory and confirmed that nothing was out of the ordinary. More importantly, neither Lieutenant Meng Xin nor Sergeant Major Chaku had noticed anything similar. Clearly, this was his sensation alone.
That alone did not match the "kindred minds" described in the Great Comprehension Intentions classic.
So it had failed?
Failure did not matter, but Ronan still wanted to determine the cause of the ringing and noise.
First, he worked backward to assess the effect this failed experiment had had on his Form and Spirit Framework.
The conclusion was that it had indeed had a slight effect: amid the resonance, his Form and Spirit Framework had become more sensitive to the outside world, receiving information across more layers and a broader range of frequencies, like a receiver that had just been modified.
When Ronan released his spiritual perception, that was exactly what he did, and in both breadth and depth, it was only stronger.
Logically, he should have handled such a situation with ease. Yet this was the Han Guang Star System, a place saturated with Evil Poison. Perhaps that was why: there was too much meaningless background noise here, and he could not analyze it too deeply, or he might encounter contamination.
