No matter how much strangeness and discord there had been in that conversation, Chun Great Lord, who ultimately controlled it all, deliberately or otherwise overlooked it.
By any normal, straightforward line of thinking, from beginning to end Chun Great Lord had merely offered cordial guidance and exchange to Ronan, a young lieutenant with a bright future. He had imparted the true meaning of "See Me Intention," swept aside the haze clouding the road of cultivation ahead, and casually promised him the benefit of "certainty."
As for Ronan's inner worries, they seemed to be nothing more than paranoid imaginings born from a guilty conscience.
Amid this absurd feeling, Chun Great Lord took the initiative to end what had been a remarkably long call. Before hanging up, he even reminded Ronan to cultivate diligently, to seize every spare moment even on the Frontline Battlefield, train without cease, and build a solid foundation.
All of it fit Chun Great Lord's "honest and kind" image perfectly.
But was it the sort of "honest kindness" that, when faced with an obvious "problem," could not bear to point it out?
For one brief moment, Ronan even wondered—
Was the one who had been speaking with him really Chun Great Lord?
Ronan patted his forehead. Sure enough, once the behavioral logic in any link of the chain went wrong, people could arrive at even more horrifying underlying conclusions in their search for a reasonable explanation. But that was meaningless. With the way human brains were built, they could devise any number of absurd yet internally consistent lines of logic.
The problem was that reality had never indulged humanity's bad habit. What mattered most was having sufficient, comprehensive facts to support it.
For now, he still had to work at gathering factual clues.
But then again, in Testing
