Ronan's idea was sound, but there would always be unexpected complications.
Walking down the corridor of the temporarily designated Isolation Zone, Ronan still did not quite understand. "So they were all cleared out? How?"
"Just as the name suggests."
Field Officer Yunbo jerked his chin toward Field Officer Wang Zhen's back and said nothing more.
Doctor Xiang Chai lowered his voice as much as he could. "What did you think 'Dream Eater' meant?"
Ronan frowned. So his knowledge really was shallow. The others present were not nearly as surprised.
Field Officer Wang Zhen, some distance ahead, did not care that she had become the focus of discussion. She simply led the way until, moments later, she stopped before a compartment assembled from several Worker Bee Cells.
It resembled a hospital ward, with a full ten "beds" inside. Of course, these "beds" were not actual beds, but separate Life Support Capsules. Under normal circumstances, no one but medical staff would be allowed in here. But at a time like this, no one cared about privacy, and everyone crowded inside.
The medical officer responsible for nursing and monitoring duties here explained each person's condition to them.
That was when Ronan learned that there were actually two field officers and eight lieutenants here. All were members of the Forward Committee Third Bureau's Command Sequence. Under the current organization, that meant one-tenth of their personnel had gone down in one blow.
Ronan found most of them familiar. Many were in the Sky Carrier Card Deck in his hand. He glanced again at Doctor Xiang Chai, who caught his meaning and immediately said, "Other than the two new members who rotated in, all of them were among the key targets we marked... If our project had continued, we definitely could have screened them out too."
