Part of it came from the Powered Armor worn by Field Officer Wang Zhen, which had nozzles capable of releasing this kind of fog. The corridor they were in also appeared to have corresponding spray devices installed.
Field Officer Yunbo, who had already joined up with him, promptly explained, "This is 'Shadow Mist.' Essentially, it's similar to the developer powder used by your family's Demon Runes, except it remains suspended in the air longer and is also an excellent conductor for the Xuan Crystal Array. In this environment, some spirit entities and Fantasy Species will easily reveal their tracks."

Ronan did not continue discussing the subject and merely made a simple deduction. "So Dream Eaters' methods really are closer to the Mental Side. Without Shadow Mist covering them, would that count as operating in violation of regulations?"
