A three-person meeting was underway in Deng Chun's spacious apartment. They were discussing how to complete the Deity's test... no, his assignment.
Once they had received the assignment, they naturally had to work out how to tackle it. But the longer they talked, the muddier their thinking became. Deng Chun and Lao Yao knew the specific requirements. Their initial excitement had worn off, leaving them able only to exchange helpless looks.
Within the Hundun Cult, a "mask" was essentially a manifestation of the Hundred Peaks Monarch's Blessing Power. Of course, calling it a "blessing" was deliberate personification. Most of the cult's mid- and high-ranking members knew perfectly well that this so-called blessing was merely a supernatural application of the Hundred Peaks Monarch as a special "energy source" and "mineral resource."
The Hundred Peaks Monarch had no personality, and therefore no ability to grant blessings. It was simply a "mine" they exploited.
How that resource was developed and used was an absolute secret known only to the cult's true leadership.
But everything had changed a month ago. A genuine God on Earth had appeared, upending the Hundun Cult. A tangible "Hundun" capable of regulating the Hundred Peaks Monarch's terrifying power had stepped out of the Dreamscape Game and into the Real World. Just like that, it had rendered the so-called "cult's greatest secret"—and the power attached to it—meaningless.
Well, the actual distribution of power had not been touched yet. Perhaps, in that Young God's eyes, the Hundun Cult was too insignificant to warrant any concrete measures.
