To prevent the time-space structure that "produced special minerals" from being affected, the "Solar System Reclamation Corps" established an "Isolation Zone" here, nominally calling it an "Abandoned Mining Area," and placed it under the control of the Cybernetics legion directly commanded by "Wildfire."
But because of the information tearing between colonists and natives, some uninformed people mistook the place for abandoned land and used it as a base or Supply Point. There were Resistance Army members, criminal gangs flying the Resistance Army's banner, smugglers, and scattered fugitives and Wanderers, all hoping to use the complex terrain to buy themselves a chance to catch their breath.
Yet all of them were under the Reclamation Corps' surveillance.
Calling it "casting a long line to catch a big fish" would be overstating it. At this stage, Earth's natives were not worth much attention from Wildfire and the other Reclamation Corps members. They merely kept the colony's natives basically active, much like the catfish effect—after all, Earth was the only living planet in the currently explored isolated star region. If it went unregistered, that was one thing, but if it was to be registered, they might as well preserve its original ecology as much as possible, lest it fetch a poor price in the end.
In the final analysis, humans were simply too forgetful. They only saw the complex terrain as a good place to hide, forgetting that this place had already been harvested several times over the past forty years.
Today was another harvest.
But they could not really be blamed for failing to learn their lesson. Too many people were crushed by those turbulent years before they even had time to form memories.
Only someone as relatively detached as New Wildfire could possess such awareness.
And so Ronan learned that this place
