The next second, the cabin doors on both sides of the rear row opened at once. The luxurious sofa seemed to have rails installed beneath it, and with a bang, it shot out. Flexible material simultaneously wrapped tightly around Xu Piao. He felt as if he had fallen into a giant balloon, drifting gently downward.
The speed was actually still very fast. They were nearly a thousand meters above the ground, and in just over ten seconds, he slammed down. It seemed he struck the water's surface and bounced up again. Xu Piao's body jolted violently, but his robust physique—hardened over the years through enhancement, modification, and even secret rituals—quickly absorbed the impact. The thick flexible material outside also seemed able to sense his condition, and an icy voice entered his ears:

The sense of restraint rapidly vanished. There seemed to be another upward thrust, and Xu Piao quickly tightened his core and curled his body. In the midst of it all, he scanned his surroundings and saw that this was indeed a stretch of "water" in the West Suburbs, surrounded by staggered buildings where he could find footing. Only then did he relax a little.
He gave a "Heh," half-unfolded his body, and used that last burst of thrust to glide toward the nearest building, roughly five or six stories tall. He accurately caught the edge of a window frame, sprang upward like an ape, and scrambled onto the rooftop in a few bounds, landing steadily. As for the "sofa" that had carried him safely down, it floated atop the filthy water, slowly spinning.
Xu Piao quickly swept his gaze around again. Seeing no obvious threat for the moment, he sent out
