After finishing his conversation with Madam Harold, Ronan went downstairs for breakfast.
Before he had even finished eating, Mister Bai sent him a message through Six Ears: "Lady Ma Mingcai has canceled her treatment appointment."
That was only natural. Now that they knew the identities of several people in the Inner World, if she still came knocking on their door... leaving everything else aside, it seemed Lady Ma Mingcai's strength of will no longer needed things like "Heterogeneous Symbiosis Technology" or "Sea Green Flower" to support it.
"If she's not coming, she's not coming." Ronan replied to Mister Bai while drinking his porridge. "They know something about the situation over there too. They're probably regretting it now. Looks like I won't get to drink your fine tea today, Mister Bai."
Mister Bai replied quickly, this time with a voice message. "Would having tea be delayed because of Ma Mingcai? Come whenever you want if you feel like it. Since April, we haven't had a proper chat in ages. Don't tell me that just because your Dream Entry Method has surpassed mine by so much, you think this old man has no value left and can't even be bothered to visit."
"How could that be? I was just talking to Bamboo Pole Bro yesterday about when we should come pay you a visit."
As he replied, Ronan found it strange. Mister Bai was easygoing and often joked with people, but he rarely teased anyone so sharply. Now, if Ronan did not pay him a visit, it would be hard to smooth things over.
"Then come on over. No need to bring Bamboo Pole. He's been sneezing every day lately; he's probably been talking about me behind my back... Come whenever you have time. Just the two of us. I happen to
