Clumsy Spider was not in very good condition.
Ever since coming into contact with the Dormant Land, Sin Dream Country, it had been "bound" to a certain extent.
The Spider Silk it sprayed had failed to catch Half-Face's "companion," instead sticking to that bizarre Corpse Jungle. The power corresponding to that place had then followed the Web it had painstakingly rebuilt, spreading outward and swallowing Half-Face, Chao Hui, Shi Hong—nodes that had already become stuck in the Web.
That description somewhat reversed cause and effect.
In truth, if not for the Web's framework—seemingly slender and fragile yet exceptionally resilient—standing in the way, the power of that bizarre Corpse Jungle would have eroded Half-Face completely the moment it touched him, this node. Erasing him entirely would have been ideal, cutting off all subsequent trouble at the root.
But the Web had stood in the way, preserving a sliver of Half-Face's vitality and preventing the spreading power from eroding him completely.
And once it was not complete, things went out of control.
Half-Face immediately became a puppet driven by this bizarre power. Because the Web was a crucial structure resisting the erosion, his instinct was to devour every node supporting it. This formed the basic Logic driving Half-Face's actions in the Real World.
From Half-Face to Chao Hui and Shi Hong, all of it had been the result of this Logic at work.
Now, all three had been swallowed by the power of that bizarre Corpse Jungle. Their vitality and Qi and Blood had been drained away. They were dead beyond death, not even qualified to exist within the Jungle, having been reduced to utter nothingness.
With several nodes collapsing in succession, the Web had also begun to corrode and snap. Perhaps that was where the tattered Webs dangling and drifting around
