Priest Farul was surprised, yet not surprised. "Keeping a failed creation that could lose control at any time... won't be easy."
The woman's voice from The Other Side replied calmly, "Any organization or individual capable of wielding 'Dreamland System power' is worth our attention."
Farul laughed. "You pay attention to every organization and individual capable of wielding 'Dreamland System power.'"
The Other Side ignored the jab.
Farul continued, "This doesn't seem to be the focus of your activities in the Red Silicon Star System, does it?"
The woman's voice from The Other Side answered, "We are always looking for opportunities to gather, connect, and piece together clues."
Those words greatly pleased Farul. He nodded in approval, then got to the heart of the matter. "So, specifically, how do we keep him?"
"For the time being, we need to make him one of us."
"Uh?"
Farul did not understand at first.
The woman's voice explained further, "He needs a certain degree of exposure. He does not necessarily have to become a public figure, but he must appear at appropriate and critical junctures. If he joins us, it will naturally be easier to arrange such conditions for him. Clear and sufficient stimulation will put the organization that has already made a mistake in an even more passive position. Though we still do not know why they launched this operation or what their purpose was, no one wants one mistake to keep breeding more mistakes..."
Farul finally recovered and interrupted The Other Side's explanation, returning to the most crucial point. "Join you? Become a Black Inspector?"
"Only as an informant, or as a 'support staffer' in another sense."
Farul was speechless for a long while before giving his assessment. "What an imaginative idea."
The inspector system was not unique to Star Ring City.
