Butler Pi Teng looked like a quiet man who never said anything unnecessary. He led Tai Yu by elevator to the hotel entrance, and they barely spoke the entire way.
A rather broad, heavy-duty hovercar was already parked on the street. Pi Teng opened the rear door, revealing a spacious face-to-face seating arrangement inside, along with a plump man with well-formed features, smiling as he invited Tai Yu aboard.
Tai Yu had reviewed the relevant information. This was Ran Ming, Ran Ran's father, a prominent figure in Star Ring City's business world and, according to rumor, one of Lu Ande's quartermasters in the Red Silicon Star System.
Ran Ming laughed heartily, warm and approachable. "Coach Tai Yu, right? I'm too fat to shift over, so come, come, sit across from me."
The "Spirit Demon Eye" that had accompanied Tai Yu was still distorted. The "Brilliant Left Eye" watched Ran Ming, while the "Black and White Right Eye" watched Tai Yu. Occasionally, the "Left Eye" would glance at Tai Yu in coordination with the "Right Eye," but the "Right Eye" had always been fixed on Tai Yu and had never changed its target.
As for Tai Yu himself, after getting into the car, he first glanced at the back of Pi Teng's head in the front passenger seat before greeting Ran Ming. It was not overly formal; displaying a certain degree of respect was enough.
