There were around five thousand people in the Military Hospital. Even if only half had problems, checking every room and every bed was an enormous undertaking.
Five or six hours slipped by before they knew it, and the first day of week 34 was over. They had checked only a fifth of the more than two thousand beds whose occupants needed care or treatment. Fortunately, they had covered nearly all the beds requiring close monitoring.
That left the Small Isolation Zone beneath the Prayer Hall. Lady Yuxi was responsible for it, but in essence, the Myriad Gods Hall intervened there. That conflicted somewhat with Tai Yu's overall design for the Spine Boundary Honeycomb, so there was no need to rush.
Tai Yu and Sheng Wu were fine after such a long stretch, but Vice President Yu Xi, who had been talking almost nonstop from the start, was worn out. Her mouth was dry, and she was beginning to stumble over her words.
Field Officer Sheng Wu suggested they take a break and have a working meal.
Yu Xi politely declined, saying she had matters to attend to at home and needed to go back first.
Sheng Wu naturally did not stop her. He simply arranged the next round of inspections with Lady Yuxi. They would focus on the Small Isolation Zone then.
After Lady Yuxi hurried off, Tai Yu and Sheng Wu continued making the rounds of the Military Hospital. This time, they did not look as closely. Instead, they discussed the Spine Boundary Honeycomb's overall design and how its individual "cells" corresponded to specific people.
