If a resident of the Central Star Zone lived in a star system surrounded entirely by "Primal Star Gates," then without a doubt, it was the core of the civilization's core region. The corresponding access requirements were extremely high, and living expenses enormous. Leaving was easy; coming back was hard.

If their star system had one "Primal Star Gate" paired with several "fixed Star Gates," that basically proved it was a star region developed in one of the earlier waves. By now, it was essentially fully developed, and living conditions were usually not too bad.

If there were several Star Gates nearby, but all of them were ordinary "fixed Star Gates," then it was some distance from the core region. Economic conditions aside, its political standing would be somewhat uncertain.

Those with only one "Solidified Star Gate," or even a "temporary Star Gate," were undoubtedly backwaters—isolated star systems.

Further down the rankings were places that nominally belonged to the "Central Star Zone," yet within their vast star regions, one could fly for weeks, dozens of weeks, or even half a year without finding a Star Gate structure. Those could basically be classified as "pirate havens," or even "the outskirts of the Abyss."
