And once he grasped the hidden logic within it, the framework centered on "I," along with the corresponding sigils for "Spacetime," "Virtual Reality," and "Boundary," continued to flow and shift inscrutably, yet naturally imprinted themselves upon his mind.
Vaguely, a new arrangement seemed to emerge, like a 3×3 grid:
"I," or rather "Brightness and Obscurity," occupied the very center of the Nine Palace Grid. "Spacetime" sat directly above it, "Boundary" directly below, while "Virtual Reality" lay to the left of "Boundary."
Was this some kind of Nine Palace Grid game?
Uh... did this mean he had achieved "See Four Meanings"?
Moreover, since he already knew the Nine Basic Meanings and had concepts such as the Dream Theater and Ancient God Knot as groundwork, Ronan could now roughly guess where the other Basic Meanings belonged.
The layer with "Brightness and Obscurity" at its center should be the "character" category, also the Self Line. "Life and Death" and "right and wrong" would be arranged to its left and right; as for which went where, that could wait.
The layer with "Spacetime" embedded above should be the "scene" category, also the Spacetime Line. "Physical Nature" and "change" would occupy either side, though their positions could likewise be left undecided for now.
The bottom row was simplest. With "Virtual Reality" and "Boundary" in place, it was clearly the "plot" category. Only one empty spot remained, for the "design" element, corresponding to the "approach line."
Strangely enough, once this Nine Palace Grid took shape, the originally concrete, chaotic, information-overloaded situation instantly became much clearer.
He had completed an "abstraction" of the "concrete," though perhaps it was also an "imagining" of the "real."
