"Rogue planets," also known as "interstellar planets," were celestial bodies with planetary mass that were not bound by any star's gravitational system, traveling alone through interstellar space.
For planets of that scale, within the vast starfield spanning a radius of 1,500 light-years around the Boundary Curtain region, their numbers started in the hundreds of millions.
Though they came in gaseous and solid varieties, and quite a number lacked geothermal conditions, with such an enormous base number, there was still plenty of room to choose even after filtering.
Grand Duke Zhiping spoke with great confidence:
"From what I recall, in the Boundary Curtain region, as long as an 'interstellar planet' hasn't been captured by a star's gravity, ownership registration is very easy to handle. If that doesn't work, long-term leasing is also possible. It's just that if it gets captured by a star later on, disputes over benefits can easily arise.
"But that's for long-term resource development. Someone like you, little brother, probably isn't considering matters spanning decades or centuries right now... Starting from this angle, the entry qualification requirements and approval procedures will be much easier for you than for other individuals or companies.
"No matter what, a Great Monarch's reputation still counts for something."
Tai Yu clicked his tongue. "You can do that?"
Sensing that Tai Yu was somewhat tempted, Grand Duke Zhiping hurriedly sweetened the deal to spare himself trouble:
"In an interstellar environment like the Boundary Curtain region, 'rogue planets' are practically being created every day. They're just scattered and fragmented, with no value for large-scale development. But finding one with sufficiently strong geothermal conditions isn't difficult.
"Besides, the Sky Patrol System assigns numbers to 'rogue planets' at regular intervals. It's also convenient to request information from them."
Tai Yu heard another familiar term. "The Sky Patrol
