Big Shot (Part 2)

Qin Yikun and Gao De were both excellent executors. Whether or not they truly understood Ronan's intentions, they put completing the mission first.

The former raised a hand. "If we're setting up a checkpoint, Gao-ge, you look the part better."

Gao De did not decline. He nodded, reached into his jacket, and pulled out a pair of sunglasses. Once he put them on, they concealed his steady middle-aged air and made him look cold and stern.

He came from a military background, and his every word and gesture carried a soldier's bearing. With his résumé and appearance, bluffing amateurs was no problem at all. More importantly, for convenience, Ronan's two security supervisors both carried solid official credentials. Even if the SCA came to investigate, they had nothing to fear.

Sure enough, when Gao De stood in the middle of the corridor with a frosty expression and signaled for the flow of people to stop, the group rapidly approaching down the hallway was baffled, but those in front instinctively obeyed. Once two or three people did so, the rest were inevitably affected and gradually came to a halt.

"What's going on?"

Someone asked from the back. A backstage staff member also tried to step forward and negotiate, but Qin Yikun stopped him the moment he emerged from the crowd and thrust a conspicuous ID in his face. "Temporary security inspection. Please cooperate."

"We all came in through security. Is this really necessary?" The staffer was completely confused, but by saying that, he had effectively let Qin Yikun lead him into the trap.

After all, the people coming through were celebrities. Among the personnel guiding them was also an assistant to the backstage director. Seeing how strange the situation was, he stepped forward, suspicion rising in his eyes.
