Silent Words

Ronan stared blankly at the simple text interface. The large words were fine, but he had no idea what the smaller text below meant.

Centennial Sequence? What the hell was that?

Inside the Brain Palace, the External Neuron was still emitting electric sparks, showing that it was operating. Ronan had thought that the External Neuron, having developed the "Brain of Emptiness System," had basically exhausted its deeper mysteries. Only now did he discover that entirely different information was hidden at its foundation and was gradually loading. The formation of the hand-drawn interface was, in fact, the loading process.

Three seconds later, the words "General Education" faded away, replaced by another interface in the style of a hand-drawn sketch. It was still extremely minimalist, but the options were more complicated. Four categories appeared in sequence: Culture, Society, Skills, and True Teachings.

Before the interface had even fully formed, Ronan tried to inspect the entries under each category. Yet Culture, Society, and Skills were all grayed out and unavailable. At first, he thought they had not finished loading, but even after the interface was complete and he tried them one by one, he confirmed that only True Teachings could be selected.

There were five options in the second-level menu under True Teachings. If Ronan had identified them correctly, they were probably Inner Cultivation, True Comprehension, Creation, Formation Deployment, and Configuration. Some of the terms were familiar, others unfamiliar, but all carried the air of transcendent cultivation.

However, only Configuration was selectable.

There was only one option available, so Ronan selected it.

When he selected it again, the refreshed interface was finally no longer in hand-drawn mode. Instead, it displayed an extraordinarily complex three-dimensional diagram. It clearly belonged to the Configuration system, though it was merely a relatively simple static structure.
