What Ronan had offered was not a suggestion, but a solution proposed from the standpoint of a maintenance soldier. A considerable portion of the assembly work he had done earlier had been in service of this very plan. His superior technical advisors, Gou Ye and Xian Zhu, raised no objections. At the very least, they remained silent.
However, as the only member of the medical sequence present, Shang Min Lieutenant had to communicate with him.
"Pressure transfer is fine. Where are you redirecting it?"
"Mainly into these mechanical structures, as well as the rear half of the compartment that has already lost function..."
As he spoke, Ronan reached out and swept his hand through the dim air, producing a visual projection. Some of the assembled mechanical modules "lit up," followed by several sections of the bulkhead.
The Segmenter outside Ronan's body was not idle either, sketching the relevant Configuration diagrams in the air, linked together by corresponding trails of light.
As Ronan marked the points, Shang Min Lieutenant's full-coverage helmet made slight movements, clearly following his train of thought as she observed and considered carefully.
Ronan did not give her much time. His finger quickly circled back and tapped his own chest.
"And me."
"You?"
"I'm the regulating valve. With the current design, it can only be operated manually... Of course, all of this is just an intermediate stage. Ultimately, all transferred pressure has to be borne by the overall array. I'll direct it toward the non-combat sequences as much as possible, preferably toward the position, so it won't affect the ambush team behind us. That requires a certain level of authorization, but I think my superiors can handle it."
Ronan was speaking at top speed. Gou Ye Lieutenant coughed once over the maintenance channel, while Non-Commissioned Officer Xian Zhu
