It seemed that beneath Bald Jeff's calm, natural expression, his true mood was far from pleasant. His voice and speaking pace were both rising, while Herman, who had come over to his side, looked more like a target that had volunteered to be berated.
Fortunately, Herman's sacrifice was not entirely without value. After unleashing a string of abuse, Bald Jeff calmed down slightly. His gaze swept across the ghosts in Virtual Reality, and his tone softened somewhat:
"That gentleman was right just now. An Artificial Intelligence of the same level requires an enormous material foundation and data scale, from cultivation to production.
"Under the rules as we understand them, that is a necessary cost. If we cannot see the requisite supercomputers, dedicated transmission lines, and power plants around Ronan, then we must find some equivalent substitute that can stand up to comparison and evaluation.
"Of course, it could be an entirely new, revolutionary system. If Ronan truly produced something like that, then as a researcher, perhaps I would worship at his feet. But the system worthy of my worship would absolutely not be this one!"
Herman could not quite save face in the end, and forced out a reply: "Those formulas..."
"Formulas? The vast majority of those are empirical formulas, and their repetition rate does not even reach five percent. Mister Herman, can you derive Earth's existing mathematical system from five percent of the empirical formulas in a limited field?"
Herman shrugged and fell completely silent.
But among the other attendees, someone indignantly spoke up: "By your logic, if everything Ronan said was just nonsense meant to fool us, why are we still cooperating with him? Why are we playing along with this Tacit Understanding? We should announce it to the entire world, expose his tricks, and ruin his reputation!"
