Zhang Yingying turned the camera toward where Ronan was pointing, but she could not make heads or tails of it. Helplessly, she moved the lens back to Ronan's face.
"Something really happened?"
Rather than a question, it was more of a confirmation—the relief and release of finally hearing the second shoe drop.
Ronan could not be bothered with her.
Zhang Yingying also felt she had gone a bit too far, but the facts were right before her, and she truly could not suppress her curiosity. Once she confirmed it was not a "dangerous sudden mutation," she pressed on.
"The Other Side is coming at us?"
"Not yet, but it's noticed us."
"Haven't they been watching all along?"
"Passive Radar and active radar aren't the same, are they?"
"True..."
Zhang Yingying immediately thought of the Cage theory. Reasoning from that foundation, the situation Ronan faced had suddenly become far more complicated—and far more dangerous.
All at once, she did not dare speak anymore, afraid of distracting Ronan.
Instead, Ronan grinned at her. "It's fine. Things are okay for now. They're just taking a look. They might not even be able to make anything out..."
In Ronan's view, the flare of the "cigarette butt" was indeed functioning as an "eye," displaying the capabilities it should possess in its complete form.
Having previously undergone destructive dissolution, it had almost no activity left in itself, and its original sensing capabilities had been destroyed as well—but no matter what, it was still a transmitting and receiving device. Once matching power was projected into it, it could still become a highly efficient intervention passageway.
But as Ronan had said, the target currently under that person's attention was not something that could be understood so easily.
Yet in the next moment, Ronan's smile stiffened slightly.
