Kurama Yakumo's little face turned pale, her thoughts already in complete turmoil.
The lingering negative emotions continued to intertwine, but under the imposing presence of the man before her, they gradually dissipated in the end.
And deep within her heart, where no one could see, that ugly monster closed its venomous eyes as well.
"Idu, what exactly was that...?"
This was the first time Yakumo had seen the monster hidden deep within her heart.
It was powerful, but also evil and ugly.
"Just a mad dog you raised, one that is now trying to break free of its cage."
Menma withdrew his hand from the top of her head and said with a smile in his voice, "If you are willing to entrust your life to me, I can teach you how to tame and control that mad dog."
He spoke as though he did not regard the so-called Idu as a threat at all.
At its core, Yakumo herself was simply too weak, while the Yin Release Power she had awakened was too strong. She lacked a vessel capable of bearing that power.
When Yakumo's sensitive heart was provoked under such circumstances, the monstrous Idu born from her imagination appeared.
If Menma were to deal with it, the solution would be simple.
His soul body had been specially nurtured, its strength and resilience sufficient to cross the barriers between worlds. Dealing with the still-weak Idu would be no trouble at all—he only needed to crush it directly with spiritual power, or rather, soul power.
"However, Idu is currently one with Yakumo. If I eliminate Idu, Yakumo's brain may very well be harmed, damaging her potential."
Looking at Yakumo's blank expression, Menma narrowed his eyes.
Someone without any value was not worth him spending so much thought and effort on.
