Uchiha Setsuna accepted Menma’s warning that kind intentions could lead to disaster and resolved that the clan could no longer hesitate. At Naka Shrine, Itachi rejected Fugaku’s plan for a bloodless revolution, then reported to Hiruzen Sarutobi and the other leaders that the Uchiha Clan had decided to launch a coup.
- Menma warned Setsuna that kind wishes could lead to Human Hell, and Setsuna concluded that the Uchiha Clan had no future in Leaf Village as it stood.
- Setsuna told Inabi that the clan could not preserve itself by remaining passive, while Menma predicted that Hiruzen Sarutobi would follow Shimura Danzō’s lead against the Uchiha.
- Itachi returned home, where Fugaku ordered him to meet at Naka Shrine after the clan gathering and told him not to bring ANBU.
- At Naka Shrine, Fugaku revealed that he had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan and asked Itachi to help seize control from Konoha’s high-ranking officials.
