Ch. 609[GraviSuite]

Shen Jin explored the GraviSuite expansion, crafting and testing equipment that greatly enhanced his combat abilities and mobility. He recognized that expanding its use among his troops would depend on increasing the settlement’s electricity supply.

  • Shen Jin crafted a [GraviTool] and used a [QuantumPack] to keep frequently needed items close at hand.
  • Shen Jin made a [Vajra], tested its strength by smashing a deep pit into the ground, and connected it to his Quantum Armor.
  • Shen Jin installed a second [Vajra] and equipped both with [Large Quantum Batteries], raising the combined storage capacity of his quantum equipment to 8.4 million kWh.
  • Shen Jin crafted a [Spatial Locator], marked his workshop, and successfully teleported back to it without delay.
  • Shen Jin decided that team captains and vice-captains should receive [Spatial Locators], while concluding that broader use of GraviSuite equipment required more electricity.

Ch. 610The plan

Shen Jin tested and assessed new GraviSuite equipment, upgraded his armor with the powerful GraviChestPlate, and planned to equip the Zombie Slaying Squad with mass-produced Advanced NanoSuit Bodyarmor. Watching Home No. 1's residents return and settle into family life, he resolved to protect the base and make it a lasting beacon against the zombies.

  • Shen Jin crafted an Ultimate Lapotron Energy Storage Backpack for his Quantum Armor and tested an Advanced Electric Jetpack and Advanced NanoSuit Bodyarmor, deciding to mass-produce the armor for the Zombie Slaying Squad.
  • Shen Jin spent 64 Iridium Ingots to craft the GraviChestPlate, merged it with his Quantum Armor, and concluded that his upgraded equipment could defeat anyone below Tier 4.
  • Shen Jin reviewed the equipment from his eight draws and lamented that none of it provided a new power-generation method.
  • Shen Jin watched civilian Superhumans return from Panjin City and Home No. 1's official Superhumans come home to their families.
  • Shen Jin reflected on Home No. 1's growing families and Shang Qian's childbirth subsidies, then vowed to make the base a lasting beacon of humanity's resistance against the zombies.

Ch. 611Round-table meeting

Shen Jin convened a round-table meeting to plan Home No. 1’s soldiers, urban development, power grid, military strategy, and economy. The group rejected soldier retirement in favor of extra leave, while Shen Jin left with plans for a futuristic city and mechanized army as Heavenly Net continued to grow.

  • Shen Jin gathered his confidants to discuss five priorities for Home No. 1’s development and its campaign against the zombies.
  • Yang Ao argued that veteran soldiers should take extra leave instead of retiring, and Meng San backed him, declaring that the Zombie Slaying Squad would not disband until the zombies were eradicated.
  • Shen Jin approved extra leave for veteran soldiers and asked Yang Ao to arrange its timing.
  • The attendees discussed plans for the Superhuman forces, the urban complex, a unified power system, strategic deployment, and improvements to the monetary system.
  • Shen Jin absorbed the group’s ideas as plans for a futuristic city and mechanized army took shape, while Heavenly Net developed new technologies and equipment.

Ch. 613Two months later

Two months after humanity's strength and fortunes improved, Lei Jun led twenty elite squads in Jinan City to thin a three-million-strong zombie horde. Their next assault on isolated zombies went wrong when a Tier 3 T Zombie coated the squads in a living, armor-eating substance, leaving them in crisis.

  • Humanity grew stronger through the Meridian Cultivation Method, but enormous zombie hordes remained a major obstacle.
  • Lei Jun ordered one thousand Tier 2 Superhumans to lure away and kill peripheral zombies from the three-million-strong horde in Jinan City.
  • The squads killed more than five thousand pursuers, burned their bodies, and regrouped inside a school.
  • Lei Jun spotted roughly ten thousand zombies separated from the horde and sent his squads to surround them.
  • A Tier 3 T Zombie sprayed the attacking Superhumans with living, heavy fat that began eating through their armor.

Ch. 614Formation, desperate straits

Lei Jun’s elite team used the Two Aspects Formation to hold off a zombie horde, but a three-million-strong horde advanced and forced the survivors to retreat. Lei Jun stayed behind to cover them, was pierced by a hidden tentacle, and was pulled free by an unknown rescuer as the chapter ended.

  • A strange T-Type Zombie attacked Jinan City’s strongest team with writhing fat, but Lei Jun rallied the fighters and struck back against the zombie horde.
  • Lei Jun clashed with the Tier 3 T Zombie while the team set up the Two Aspects Formation and steadily killed zombies.
  • When a Z3 zombie noticed them, Lei Jun ordered eighteen teams to retreat and kept two teams with him to cover them.
  • The Z3 zombie restored the wounded T3 Zombie, and Lei Jun drew the flying zombies away while the two teams’ formation was overwhelmed.
  • A hidden tentacle pierced Lei Jun, and psychic interference from the Big-Head Zombie disrupted his sixth sense as he watched the retreating teams come under attack.
  • An unknown person pulled Lei Jun free from the tentacle and carried him into the sky.

Ch. 615A mere three-million-strong Zombie Horde? Piece of cake

Yang Ao and Home No. 1’s fighters rescued Jinan City’s Heavenly Net teams and attacked the three-million-strong Zombie Horde. As the horde raised a five-hundred-meter Zombie Amalgamation, a golden giant rose from the bunker to face it.

  • Yang Ao’s black-armored fighters killed the pursuing Flying Zombies and set out to rescue the teams’ trapped comrades.
  • Yang Ao led the rescue, and Home No. 1’s forces freed the two besieged teams and carried them to safety.
  • Yang Ao cut down the Tier 3 Mutated Zombie and rescued Lei Jun, then told him the fighters would clear the horde without a detailed plan.
  • Yang Ao activated four Beacons to enhance Home No. 1’s forces, while Lei Jun recovered from his severe shoulder injury with a Senzu Bean.
  • Home No. 1’s fighters bombarded the horde from a bunker as Yang Ao killed charging Tier 3 Zombies.
  • The Z-Type Zombie created a five-hundred-meter Zombie Amalgamation, and a golden giant rose from the bunker.

Ch. 616Victory was assured

Home No. 1’s forces fought the three-million-strong zombie amalgamation, using the Metal Elemental and bunker fire to cut it apart and wear it down. After the amalgamation attacked the bunker, Yang Ao’s troops teleported clear, struck its exposed wounds, and Yang Ao beheaded it.

  • Tong Zhen’s Metal Elemental sliced off the zombie amalgamation’s right arm, and the bunker’s fighters bombarded the severed limb with plasma.
  • The Metal Elemental cut off the amalgamation’s left arm, while the bunker’s fighters attacked it and the zombie fusion repeatedly repaired itself at the cost of shrinking.
  • The Z Zombie charged at the combat bunker and smashed it, but Yang Ao’s troops used Portable Spatial Teleportation Devices to escape and appear behind the amalgamation.
  • Qi Tong and the other Tier 3 commanders attacked the wound on the amalgamation’s neck as the remaining troops fired on its severed arms.
  • Yang Ao teleported to the neck wound and used two giant swords of light to cut off the zombie amalgamation’s head.

Ch. 617Loot from the three-million-strong zombie horde

Yang Ao and Home No. 1 helped Jinan City eliminate a three-million-strong zombie horde without losing anyone, then celebrated with the local Heavenly Net. As Lei Jun presented the horde’s crystal cores and information on S Province’s remaining hordes, Yang Ao prepared to bring Home No. 1’s campaign there.

  • Home No. 1 restrained the Z Zombie and destroyed the remaining horde after days of fighting, with Jinan City’s Heavenly Net helping finish the cleanup and no one dying.
  • Yang Ao and his exhausted team rested before attending a victory banquet hosted by Lei Jun and Jinan City’s Heavenly Net personnel.
  • Home No. 1’s soldiers told local Superhumans about their advanced Nano Armor and credited Shen Jin’s technology for their equipment and low casualties.
  • Yang Ao asked Lei Jun for intelligence on S Province’s zombie hordes and said Home No. 1 intended to clear them; Lei Jun welcomed the offer and discussed restarting Light Island Beer production.
  • Jinan City’s personnel presented chests of crystal cores recovered from the three-million-strong horde, and Lei Jun asked his assistant to tally their types for Yang Ao.

Ch. 619Home No. 1's ultimate fusion

After Yang Ao’s team cleared a three-million-zombie horde in Jinan, Shen Jin assessed Home No. 1’s expanding territory, forces, and resources. He then ordered reinforcements sent to Yang Ao and Meng San as they continued clearing zombie hordes in S Province and J Province.

  • Yang Ao delivered the energy crystal cores from the cleared horde to Home No. 1, then planned the next Jinan operation with Lei Jun’s team.
  • Shen Jin collected more than 36,000 system points and considered saving up for a large Industrial expansion mod after advancing Little White.
  • Shen Jin surveyed Home No. 1’s connected six-city territory, which sheltered about 810,000 survivors and had expanded its electricity production.
  • Shen Jin reviewed the growth of Sun Can’s legion, the independent organizations, and Home No. 1’s second-echelon fighters.
  • Meng San reported that his squad had cleared Changchun City and joined its Heavenly Net branch, so Shen Jin assigned 2,500 second-echelon reinforcements each to him and Yang Ao.

Ch. 620A mission of survival!

After Chu Xu returned and took command of Heavenly Net, Hu Shou emerged from seclusion as a Tier 4 Superhuman, and the two prepared to lead China’s campaign against the zombies. Shen Jin and Sun Can then received matching system missions requiring them to reach Tier 4 before the zombies’ next Time Lock evolution.

  • Chu Xu emerged from seclusion, promised to reduce the zombie population, and was welcomed by the other Wallfacers as their new commander.
  • Hu Shou revealed that he had become a Tier 4 Superhuman, warned Liu Shicai that failure could turn someone into another version of themselves, and called his new ability the power of a dragon.
  • Heavenly Net appointed Chu Xu commander-in-chief and made Hu Shou his adviser, uniting the organization behind Chu Xu’s orders.
  • Liu Jiannan asked Kong Long about Wallfacer No. 12 and learned that the person’s identity was classified as a top national secret.
  • Shen Jin and Sun Can sensed a Tier 4 power surge from the direction of Heavenly Net Headquarters, then received system missions requiring them to reach Tier 4 before the zombies’ next Time Lock evolution.
  • Shen Jin demanded that Sun Can reveal the details of his mission.

Ch. 621Fight, Shen Jin!

Shen Jin revealed his system to Sun Can and learned that his own abilities had already reached the threshold for Tier 4, though he had not believed he could advance without system potions. After Hu Shou helped him break through to Tier 3 peak and showed him an ancient picture, Shen Jin traveled to B City to seek Tier 4 through battle.

  • Shen Jin brought Sun Can to his hidden fallback space and they discussed their systems, including the missing owner of the sword system.
  • Sun Can explained that he was level thirty-nine and expected to reach Tier 4 by leveling up, while Shen Jin worried about his own mission deadline and failure penalty.
  • Shen Jin met Hu Shou above Heavenly Net Headquarters and offered Mining Lasers in exchange for help advancing to Tier 4.
  • Hu Shou helped Shen Jin circulate his energy, pushing him to Tier 3 peak, and explained that Shen Jin had already accumulated enough to attempt advancement.
  • Hu Shou showed Shen Jin an ancient picture and warned him to follow his own path, then Shen Jin, Sun Can, Sun Li, and their subordinates headed to B City to fight zombies.

Ch. 622The Core Dweller descended, Sun Can reached level 40

Shen Jin watched Sun Can demonstrate his newly acquired skills as Sun Can led a thousand fighters against tens of thousands of zombies in B City. Sun Can leveled up to level 40, but he did not advance to Tier 4.

  • Shen Jin and Sun Can entered B City with their teams, where Shen Jin trained while Sun Can sought experience for his next advancement.
  • Sun Can used his new Trance of Wrath skill to disrupt attacking Flying Zombies, allowing his fighters to destroy them.
  • Sun Can’s thousand fighters battled a horde of more than twenty thousand zombies, and Sun Can summoned a massive Flame Giant with his Core Dweller skill.
  • Sun Can’s forces wiped out the horde without the Super Squad intervening, and Sun Can reached level 40.
  • Sun Can realized that reaching level 40 had not advanced him to Tier 4 Superhuman.

Ch. 623Drawing [Potion Mystery Boxes]

After Shen Jin and Sun Can discovered their systems could not directly push them to Tier 4, Shen Jin used potion boxes to strengthen himself and Sun Can while searching for clues about ancient ruins. They returned to training as Heavenly Net began a major counteroffensive against the zombies.

  • Sun Can found that reaching level 40 had strengthened him and unlocked new skills, but had not advanced him to Tier 4, so he asked Shen Jin for Hu Shou's advancement experience.
  • Shen Jin decided potion mystery boxes might offer the outside help he needed and had Bai Hang stay close to boost his luck while drawing potions.
  • Shen Jin used an Advanced Energy Serum and a Mental Power Enhancement Potion, then kept a Translation Potion to investigate ancient ruin writings and the systems' origins.
  • Shen Jin and Sun Can drew more potions, improved their abilities, and returned to battle to train for Tier 4.
  • While they trained, Home No. 1 Base shipped equipment to Heavenly Net bases, and Wallfacer No. 11, Chu Xu, led an all-out counteroffensive against the zombies.

Ch. 624The birth of the first Special Ability User in ancient times

Shen Jin’s preparations strengthened Heavenly Net while researchers uncovered how ancient humans first became Special Ability Users. The ruins’ final recording remained untranslated, leaving the ancient tribe’s last message a mystery.

  • Shen Jin and Sun Can spent a week fighting zombies in B City, while Sun Can reached level 41 without advancing to Tier 4 and Shen Jin struggled to trigger his own breakthrough.
  • Shen Jin’s Home No. 1 supplied Heavenly Net with one million equipment sets, and Shang Qian coordinated charging infrastructure as bases prepared to clear zombie hordes.
  • Heavenly Net adopted new formations, emergency potions, and energy-powered devices, while Yang Ao led the City Defense Army in practicing defensive formations.
  • Liu Shicai and Wallfacers No. 2 and No. 3 explored newly revealed ruins in Gansu Province and found recordings tracing ancient humans’ development of artifact refining and energy technology.
  • A Tier 4 genius in the recordings refined his own body, became the first Special Ability User after a century of cultivation, and taught the practice to his tribe, sealing their Gene Locks.
  • Liu Shicai and the archaeologists watched a final recording of an ancient human but could not understand its spoken language.

Ch. 625The Last Wallfacer

After Heavenly Net explored the ancient ruin in Gansu, its researchers speculated that ancient humans had mixed with other races and may have been destroyed by a war between powerful Superhumans. Wallfacer No. 12, Xi Fu, emerged from seclusion and told Heavenly Net he would search for a clue that could reveal a path beyond humanity’s fate.

  • Liu Shicai and Wallfacers No. 2 and No. 3 discussed the ruin’s recordings, proposing that ancient Superhumans and other races might explain humanity’s dormant genes and the extinction of ancient civilizations.
  • Heavenly Net withdrew from the ruin with its recordings and artifacts, planning to study them privately while organizations in South Asia and Africa struggled against zombies.
  • Xi Fu appeared at a Heavenly Net meeting in casual clothes and played a phone game, drawing silent disapproval from senior officials.
  • When Chu Xu asked what he had accomplished, Xi Fu said he had solved a few old questions and assured the room that humanity would ultimately win.
  • Xi Fu left to search for “the clue,” explaining that zombie outbreaks and eventual victory were fate, but the clue could transcend fate and reveal a true path for everyone.

Ch. 626Shrouded in Mystery (End)

Xi Fu left Heavenly Net to search for an unknown clue as the organization prepared to wipe out the zombies, while Shen Jin and Sun Can pushed toward Tier 4. Shen Jin translated an ancient recording that warned Tier 4 Special Ability Users would fall under a curse and serve other races, leaving the survivors facing a grim revelation.

  • Xi Fu departed Heavenly Net after telling Hu Shou he was searching for a clue, and Hu Shou and Wallfacer No. 11 resumed their plans to eradicate the zombies.
  • Hu Shou concluded that zombies could evolve only as far as Tier 3, while Heavenly Net equipped its troops and sent them against zombie hordes.
  • Shen Jin and Sun Can trained and fought in B City, refining their abilities as they competed to reach Tier 4 first.
  • Shen Jin left Sun Can near a dangerous zone and traveled to Heavenly Net Headquarters, where Liu Shicai showed him recordings from the Cultivator Tribe.
  • Liu Dalao advanced Su Lele to Tier 3 using energy from the Plant Zombie's core, but she showed no sign of recovering her memories.
  • Shen Jin translated the recording, which warned that Tier 4 Special Ability Users would transform into other races and ultimately serve them.

Ch. 628The Curse of the Ancient Other Races

After learning that tier 4 advancement might expose superhumans to a curse tied to the genes of other races, Shen Jin and Sun Can worried about what awaited them. Shen Jin reconsidered the ancient records and realized that Li Moxiao’s unusual combination of gene locks and special abilities might offer a way to understand the danger.

  • Yang Tianyao explained that tier 4 gene-lock superhumans activate abilities encoded in genes that do not belong to humans, supporting the ancient recording’s warning.
  • Hu Shou described facing a mutated version of himself and powerful negative emotions during his tier 4 advancement, then demonstrated his golden scales and horns.
  • Shen Jin told Sun Can that special ability users might be unable to advance safely, and speculated that the systems could be connected to the other races.
  • Shen Jin questioned whether the ancient warning applied to all humans or only descendants of the cultivator tribe, but remembered that Hu Shou had faced the same threat.
  • Shen Jin realized that Li Moxiao might provide a clue because she had both a gene lock and special abilities, a combination that had once existed among the ancient tribes.

Ch. 629Indestructible Will and Conviction!

Shen Jin asked Li Moxiao to provide a blood sample so Fu Wei could investigate her unusual genes, then reflected on his purpose and discovered the conviction he needed to pursue Tier 4. He left the chapter resolved to give people homes and make the world healthier for humanity.

  • Shen Jin visited Li Moxiao, learned she had reached Tier 3 Peak, and took her to Fu Wei’s laboratory to have her blood tested in secret.
  • Shen Jin told Fu Wei about Heavenly Net’s research and asked him to investigate everything unusual about Li Moxiao’s body.
  • Shen Jin visited Liu Yue and dreamed of living an ordinary life before waking and realizing he rejected that future.
  • Shen Jin flew over Home No. 1 and concluded that indestructible will and conviction were key to advancing to Tier 4.
  • Shen Jin declared that he wanted people to have homes to return to and wanted life to improve for humanity, then erupted with an inexhaustible aura.

Ch. 630Two Men Battle an "Extremely Dangerous" Aberrant Zombie Variant

Shen Jin and Sun Can challenged an extremely dangerous Tier 3 Aberrant Variant Zombie at a university, fighting its first wave of White Threadworms with fire and copied abilities. After the worms were burned away, the ground shook and split open as the monster’s true body began to emerge.

  • Shen Jin returned to B City with renewed resolve and joined Sun Can in preparing to challenge the boss zombie.
  • Sun Li led the Super Squad and Sun Can’s subordinates to secure the university perimeter while Shen Jin and Sun Can entered the grounds in their upgraded armor and weapons.
  • Shen Jin and Sun Can advanced through the university and decided to face the Aberrant Variant Zombie themselves instead of relying on a large force.
  • White Threadworms poured from a fissure, and Sun Can summoned the Core Dweller while Shen Jin used laser eyes to help burn them away.
  • Shen Jin taunted the monster to reveal its true body, and the ground shook and split open as he and Sun Can took to the sky.

Ch. 631Explosive Power!

Shen Jin and Sun Can fought the white threadworm-controlled campus, where buildings, plants, and zombies became a coordinated army. After escaping a corpse-bomb ambush, they unleashed their Lightning Fruits and swept across the university, leaving the school collapsing in flames.

  • White threadworms erupted from the ravines, parasitized the campus, and turned its plants and buildings into attacking monsters; Shen Jin and Sun Can dodged psychic attacks with help from their Quantum Helmets.
  • Shen Jin used Sleep Wave to knock the threadworms in the weeds unconscious, while the Core Dweller fought a transformed laboratory building.
  • Shen Jin and Sun Can enlarged themselves and their weapons with Ant Fruits, then teamed up with the Core Dweller to demolish the library and burn the worms inside.
  • The threadworms woke and launched another psychic assault, then hurled corpse bombs at Shen Jin and Sun Can while branches blocked their escape; the two teleported clear of the blast.
  • Shen Jin and Sun Can ate Lightning Fruits and raced across the campus, cutting through the monsters and setting off a wave of destruction that left the university collapsing in flames.
