Esdeath's arrival did not surprise anyone. Broly had already told his companions about it beforehand.
He would not hold back in the semifinals. He would defeat Esdeath and bring her back. Nahash and the others held a welcome party for their new companion.
Since setting out on her journey after her village was destroyed, this was the first time Esdeath had been accepted by a group. Of course, it was not as though she had never had chances to fit into groups before. She simply had not accepted them, traveling constantly with a single-minded focus on becoming stronger.
It was only after being defeated by Broly and formally becoming his possession that she finally stopped.
Still, Esdeath was somewhat unaccustomed to the warmth of a group like this.
"Thank you." Taking the juice Akame handed over, Esdeath thanked her, then leaned close to Broly's ear and asked, "Are all your companions as strong as you?"
This was what she cared about most.
"Ha, Big Brother Broly is the strongest. How could we possibly have strength equal to Big Brother's?"

"Then how did you end up with him?"
Esdeath asked curiously.
"We were children sold by Slave Traders. We happened to meet Big Brother in Jiffonora Sea Tree Forest, and after he saved us, we started following him."
Nahash explained. Since Esdeath was a companion Big Brother Broly had personally brought back, there was no need to hide anything.
"They followed him earlier. I only joined later after he helped me. I used to be one of the street children. My name is Mine, and it's nice to meet you."
