A full moon hung high in the sky.
Inside a towering Assassin Branch Temple that reached into the clouds.
There were no windows anywhere in this hall. The only illumination came from jade stones that emitted a dim dark-purple glow.
Beneath that faint dark-purple halo stood the vague outline of a massive female statue carved from some kind of stone.
Though it was made of stone, anyone who came close could feel the grim, murderous aura emanating from it.
It sent chills down one's spine.
At the statue's feet was a six-pointed Star Chart formed from dark-gold patterns. On closer inspection, special magic arrays could faintly be seen carved into the surrounding walls.
The power within those arrays had become extremely faint after ages of wear.
Yet one could still sense the dark, murderous aura lingering within them.
It was in such an extreme environment that a Purple Light Pillar shot into the sky directly before the statue, its murderous aura even stronger than the statue's.
As the pillar rose, all the surrounding magic arrays grew even dimmer than before.
Level with the statue's head, at the very center of the light pillar, floated a pitch-black dagger. Beneath it,
a young girl hovered in the air, receiving the baptism of the purple light pillar.
The girl had long purple hair that draped over her shoulders like mist. Her skin was as delicate as polished jade, her exquisite features seemed perfectly bestowed by the heavens, and her figure was without the slightest flaw. The only regrettable thing was that, like the statue before her, she lacked even a trace of vitality.
If Lin Feng had been here, he would have recognized the girl and the sword at a glance.
They were the ones he had missed for the past two years.
