Outside the Patrol Bureau
Two figures walked out one after the other. Director Tan followed about half a step behind the young man in the baseball cap, maintaining that distance.
"The investigation in Qingyang County has made no progress. Do you think we should continue?"
Director Tan asked with a frown.
Since the incident at Pingzhuang Public Cemetery, the Patrol Bureau had continued its investigation, but not only had they failed to find any evidence, they had uncovered even more doubts.
For the entire incident, the Patrol Bureau reported directly to this young man.
Upon hearing that,
the young man paused and pressed down the brim of his cap, his expression unchanged.
"Several days of investigation and not a single clue. There probably won't be anything to find even if you keep looking. Put it aside for now. Contact me immediately if anything comes up."
"Alright. If there are any new developments, I'll contact you right away!"
Director Tan breathed a slight sigh of relief. At last, they could catch their breath over this matter.
Handling such strange incidents was not the Patrol Bureau's specialty.
Then, as though he had remembered something, he hurriedly asked again,
"Oh, right. Do you need me to arrange a car for you?"
"No."
The man looked back at Director Tan and said expressionlessly,
"If any similar incidents occur in the future, remember to block the news to avoid unnecessary trouble."
"Alright!"
Director Tan froze for a moment, then nodded.
He watched the young man in the baseball cap leave the Patrol Bureau and disappear from sight.
Though the man looked young, his calm presence and manner of speaking carried the air of someone in a high position.
It was strange. He possessed a maturity that did not belong to someone his age.
Jinshi City.
