First, let me talk about the original idea behind this book. I started writing it in September last year, and my motivation for putting pen to paper wasn't particularly noble. Mainly, the Battle Through the Heavens anime had come out around then, and Yun Yun's appearance and personality matched my tastes perfectly, so I couldn't resist indulging in a little fantasy. That was how I began writing a story with Yun Yun as the female lead. Looking across the whole of Battle Through the Heavens, other than Xiao Yan, who was closer to Yun Yun than Gu He? Thus, the male lead was decided as well.
So this story was told from Gu He's perspective, recounting events that took place on the Dou Qi Continent.
As for the issue of the female lead having very little screen time in the latter half of the story, let me explain: I came to recognize the limits of my own writing. My lack of experience made the romantic scenes unbearably awkward, and it seemed like hardly anyone wanted to read them, so I stopped doing something so thankless.
The later part of the story mainly focused on advancing the plot, with a few alchemy and battle scenes woven in. Of course, because I was worried about the plot and afraid I might mess it up completely, I kept suppressing the protagonist's performance. As a result, this book seriously lacked satisfying moments. I knew that very well myself. Here, I want to express my gratitude to all the readers who continued supporting me. Without your support, this book might have ended hastily long ago and could never have been written to this point.
I don't know whether everyone is satisfied with this ending, but personally, I thought it turned out pretty well. Gu He
