Background / History

Xue Linger was originally the Snow Empress, a roughly Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast from the Far North. She was hunted by Soul Masters and defeated by a Hunter whose black flames overpowered her extreme ice abilities. Facing death, she attempted self-destruction; the attempt was interrupted, but the released energy created an opportunity for her to escape using a spatial-attribute item. Severely injured, she transformed into a human to preserve her life. The transformation left her unconscious near the Far North and erased most of her memories. 112 114

She was found in the snowfields by the Xue family's current clan leader and brought into the family as a small child. Believing that she had suffered a head injury and lost her memories, the family accepted and raised her alongside Xue Tianbing and Xue Mengbing. 111

Three years after arriving, her Martial Soul awakening triggered an uncontrolled outburst resembling her later tournament rampage. The awakening platform was destroyed, nearby houses collapsed, and the family recognized the aura of a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast. While some relatives wanted her expelled as a danger and potential prize, Xue Tianbing and Xue Mengbing's mother protected her.
