There were still plenty of Wandering Gray Robes around the notice board, their discussions buzzing like a swarm of restless wild bees.

The rewards listed after each mission were highlighted in bold fluorescent paint—potions that enhanced Spiritual Power, high-grade zero-order magic tools, Magic Stones, official Academy student status, ship tickets, and even the chance to study under a powerful official wizard and become their disciple!
Ronan's gaze lingered briefly on that final reward.
That was the only thing on the notice board that truly held any appeal for him.
The importance of inheritance to wizards was beyond question. Having someone to guide you was vastly different from feeling your way forward alone.

Ronan softly murmured the name, a flicker passing through his eyes.
The Academy admission qualification he had once desperately wanted now seemed obtainable with just a word from him.

He felt that if he joined the Academy at this moment, his background as a Wandering Gray Robe would make it highly likely that he would immediately be sent on dangerous combat missions where he could lose his life at any moment.
And once he became an official student, he would not even have the right to refuse.
