Lei Ni sat on the ground in a daze for a while. A moment later, as if some new strength had suddenly welled up within him, he scrambled to his feet, shouting as he waved the enchanted curved blade in his hand to drive away the Ghost Face Flowers gathering around him, then desperately chased after the figure ahead.
The two ran all the way out of the Ghost Face Flower Field, sprinting across uncultivated mud, climbing over a high dirt slope, and suddenly found the view before them opening up. Beneath the deep blue sky lay a lush green lawn, with a lake in its midst, several poplar trees planted along its shore, and a beautiful little white house nearby.
The tranquil, picturesque scene looked like an oil painting. Ronan felt as though he had finally escaped a nightmare and entered reality.
The faint yet ever-present sense of danger that had lingered in his heart also receded like a rapidly ebbing tide.
