"How did we say goodbye, just like when we first met..."
No matter when or where, scenes of parting in life and death could play out at any moment. Whether it was love or friendship, there were always troubles too tangled to cut through. Only family—the irreplaceable bond of blood—became all the more unbreakable.
After a brief period of healing on their own, Li Yang and Yue Xiaodan began to soberly accept that they would never be able to become a legally married couple openly in this lifetime. But that did not mean they would never see each other again.
As long as they wanted to, they could meet up anytime, go on dates, eat, or shop. How difficult could that be? It was not like they had to cross mountains and rivers.
Because of that, Yue Xiaodan, the more fragile of the two, comforted herself in her heart. Li Yang was not dead—he was still alive. As long as she was willing, she believed Li Yang would feel the same relief.
After taking a moment to calm down at the hospital, Yue Xiaodan finally showed the faintest smile when Li Yang held her and Jing Jing as they got into a taxi together.
That was right. No one could live in pain forever. Compared to young people who suffered the same fate but would never see each other again for the rest of their lives, the two of them did not know how much luckier they were.
They took a taxi straight back to Jing Jing's Home. As for that house, Yue Xiaodan never wanted to go back and stay there again. Fortunately, on the way back, the taxi driver picked up a passenger leaving the village, and was at least glad he had not made an empty trip.
