Taking a few days off.
My chronic appendicitis had flared up again. I needed IV drips for a few days, so I would temporarily switch to two updates a day.
For seven consecutive days in mid-October, I had also only posted two updates a day for the same reason. I mentioned it in the group chat but not in the book, because if I did, people would question whether the author really got sick that easily. Indeed, for an author who sat in front of a computer for long stretches with little time to exercise, the chances of getting sick were somewhat higher than for ordinary people. What's more, I was already a man in my thirties; my body was gradually no longer allowing me to do whatever I pleased.
Of course, I had also considered going to the hospital and getting it cut out once and for all. After all, that method would solve the problem best. But... I was scared... Even a minor operation would mean several days in the hospital, and I definitely wouldn't be able to write. So forget it. I would wait a little longer—until the day when spring was warm and flowers bloomed.
