Ye Wen extracted Otsutsuki Isshiki’s knowledge of the Otsutsuki and Karma, then sealed him and prepared to investigate the Branch Family. On the moon, the oppressed Branch Family was beginning to resist the Main Family.

• Under Ye Wen’s mind-bewitching technique, Otsutsuki Isshiki revealed his past, the Kara Organization, and what he knew about Karma.
• Ye Wen copied the extracted information onto a Jade Slip and sent Zhu Zhuqing to report to the intelligence department and prepare for war.
• Ye Wen studied Karma and concluded that the Otsutsuki might be Digital Life Forms whose intelligence had replaced the soul.
• After Otsutsuki Isshiki regained his senses, Ye Wen sealed him and decided to find the Branch Family.

Ye Wen reached the moon and contacted the imprisoned Otsutsuki Kaguya, seeking to recruit her for the Soul Master Civilization. He revealed himself as the Vast Sea God King and asked her to submit to him and work for him.

• Kakashi heard Itachi Uchiha’s report about Akatsuki and judged that the organization’s plan to collect the Tailed Beasts was foolish.
• Ye Wen’s divine light appeared before Kakashi and Konoha’s leaders, healing them as Kakashi received the command to apprehend all of Akatsuki.

Nagato prepared Akatsuki to face Konoha’s invasion of Amegakure, assigning his members roles while insisting that the war would help the world understand pain. Kakashi then began the assault by sealing off the battlefield with the Four Violet Flames Formation.

• Konan warned Nagato that his actions over the One-Tails had drawn Konoha’s attention, but Nagato said conflict with the great villages had always been inevitable.

Kakashi’s force reached Amegakure, where Konan unleashed a vast paper-bomb attack that Kakashi survived with a golden avatar. As Shibi fought Konan, Nagato sent the Six Paths of Pain against Kakashi, who used Kamui to destroy their missile and entered battle.

• Obito escaped Kakashi’s Kamui dimension, and Kakashi ordered his force to continue toward Amegakure.
• Konan detonated one hundred billion paper bombs beneath Konoha’s strike force, but Kakashi protected everyone with a golden avatar.
• Kakashi assigned Shibi to fight Konan and continued advancing while the two battled with paper and insects.
• Nagato summoned the Six Paths of Pain and launched a missile at Kakashi’s force.

Konoha’s forces used their intelligence and teamwork to neutralize Pain’s summoned beasts, then split up to engage the remaining Paths. As the battle intensified, Might Guy opened a gate and launched Daytime Tiger at the Preta Path.

• Juzo Biwa summoned giant beasts as the Six Paths of Pain began their attack, and Hiashi Hyuga used the Byakugan to identify the enemies and share their positions.
• The Ino–Shika–Chō team restrained the summoned beasts with coordinated techniques and sealed them, while another Yamanaka ninja’s attempt to control one failed.
