Was Bocheng's fate set on an unchangeable course, or could Lin Lan rewrite it? Watching the bustling crowds outside the window, Lin Lan could not help but feel lost.

"Everyone Lord Hu Jin sent out was killed. Should we send more people to kill that brat?" A man in black knelt before Mu He and reported.

"Hm—there's no need to send anyone else. The Arbitration Council has dispatched more adjudicators to Bocheng, and that brat Lin Lan has already given up his Earth Sacred Spring slot. Lord Salang will soon arrive in Bocheng, so we should complete the assigned task first. Let him live a little longer." Mu He took a sip of tea and spoke gravely.

"Yes." With that, the Black-robed Scholar withdrew.

Lin Lan was currently cultivating in his room. The magic energy in the Space Element and Lightning Element of his spiritual world was now extremely abundant, with the Space Element holding three times as much as the Lightning Element. Two nebulae drifted through his spiritual world, while forty-nine stars rejoiced.

Even if a group of them fought it, they definitely would not be able to defeat the Totem Mysterious Snake. If it accidentally killed a few Super Rank Mages, that would be hard to explain. Everything had to be carefully considered. Still, Lin Lan had a new idea. Perhaps the casualties in the Bocheng disaster could be minimized—unless Salang and Wu Ku acted together.

"Mo Fan, here's the Star Chart Book you asked for." Lin Lan went to Mo Fan's home and handed him the Star Chart Book he had asked him to buy.

"Buy my ass! Did you forget what I told you about the Black Vatican letting demons invade Bocheng?" Lin Lan was a little angry. Mo Fan really never listened to advice—or maybe he had drunk too much the night before and forgotten everything.

"Oh, right—I'm sorry, I forgot." Mo Fan scratched his head awkwardly. After all, he had only heard Lin Lan talk about how cruel the Black Vatican was; he had never seen or encountered them himself. To him, buying a house and giving Mo Jiaxing a place to settle down was more important.

The next day, Lin Lan arrived at the Magic Association. As usual, everything required registration.

"Hello, miss. I'm here for magic awakening. My name is Lin Lan," Lin Lan said to the receptionist.

"You're Lin Lan, the one who came looking for Mr. Yang last time, right? Mr. Yang said you could go directly to the awakening room on the fourth floor. He'll be waiting for you there," the receptionist said to Lin Lan with a smile.

"Okay, thank you." Lin Lan took the elevator upstairs after saying that.

"Such a young Intermediate Mage—only seventeen," the receptionist could not help sighing as she looked at Lin Lan's file.

"Seriously? And he's so handsome. I think he must be from some great family," another receptionist chimed in.

"Mr. Yang, how long have you been waiting here? I feel embarrassed making you wait for me when this is my own matter." Lin Lan spoke somewhat tactfully. Yang Zuohe stood outside the awakening room, seemingly deep in thought.

"It's fine. This is my duty to begin with. Besides, now that Bocheng has produced such an outstanding young talent as you, our Magic Association naturally has to pay closer attention."

"Come on, the awakening room is inside. I'll take you in." Yang Zuohe also greatly appreciated a talent like Lin Lan. As he spoke, he opened the door to the awakening room.

The awakening room was not large. At its center stood an awakening platform with a circular groove for placing an awakening stone.

"Brother Lin Lan, which element do you want to awaken? I'll put in a guide stone," Yang Zuohe asked.

"Put in one for the Summoning Element," Lin Lan said.

"The Summoning Element, got it." Yang Zuohe then went outside to retrieve an awakening stone from where they were stored.

"Brother Lin Lan, the awakening process is the same as when you awakened in high school. Good luck!" After saying that, Yang Zuohe placed the awakening stone in the groove and walked out.

Before it was awakened, the awakening stone gave off no light and looked exceedingly dim. Seeing it again, Lin Lan felt as though the scenes of awakening his Lightning and Space Elements had happened only yesterday.

"Whew... I hope I awaken the Summoning Element." With that, Lin Lan placed his hand on the awakening stone and began his magic awakening.

His consciousness entered his spiritual world. A beam of light passed through it, illuminating the places that had yet to be lit and brightening a patch of darkness within his spiritual world.

Two new stardust clusters emerged beneath the light—one pale blue, the other moon-colored.

"The Summoning Element! The Ice Element! Oh my god, I awakened two new elements again!" Lin Lan was thrilled. Two more magic elements—perhaps they would come with two more innate talents. Wouldn't that let him walk sideways through the magic world?
